3 lb mussels
3 tbsp chopped garlic
Juice of a ½ lemon
½ c. white wine (Chablis or Pinot Noir)
2 oz fresh basil chopped
3 tbsp butter (optional)
1Preheat skillet to 350 F.
2Add mussels, garlic, lemon, wine and cover.
3Skillet steam mussels until they open approximately 3 minutes.
4Add basil, butter and stir.
5Discard any unopened mussels.
6Serve in a large bowl with a baguette or Italian bread.
